According to the latest statistics released by market research firm Counterpoint Research, the best-selling 5G phone in the US market in 2019 is Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10 Plus 5G. The report pointed out that in 2019, the sales of 5G mobile phones in the United States were less than 2 million, accounting for less than 1% of all mobile phone sales. In the proportion of 5G mobile phone manufacturers, Samsung ranked first with 74%, while LG and OnePlus ranked second and third respectively.
“For a number of reasons, 5G smartphone sales were lower than expected in the U.S. in 2019,” Jeff Fieldhack, director of Counterpoint Research, said in a statement on Tuesday. He said the main reason is that 5G phones are expensive and that 5G in the U.S. Coverage is limited.
Counterpoint expects that number to increase around mid-2020 due to expanded 5G coverage and rumors that Apple will launch a 5G iPhone. Fieldhack said he expects 5G smartphone sales to grow from 1% to about 25% of all U.S. smartphone sales by the end of 2020.
