The 5th Symposium on the Development of Atmospheric Optics and Adaptive Optics Technology and the 2021 Annual Academic Symposium of the Key Laboratory of Atmospheric Optics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was grandly held in Hefei

From October 17th to 19th, “The Fifth Symposium on Atmospheric Optics and Adaptive Optics Technology Development” was held in Hefei. More than 400 experts and scholars from more than 80 domestic units gathered together to discuss the application of atmospheric optical properties and optical transmission physics in the fields of laser technology, atmospheric detection and optical remote sensing, and promote the continuous development of atmospheric optics and adaptive optics technology. Rapid development. During the meeting, the 2021 Academic Symposium of the Key Laboratory of Atmospheric Optics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was also held.

This symposium is organized by the Chinese Society of Optical Engineering in conjunction with the Key Laboratory of Atmospheric Optics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Key Laboratory of Adaptive Optics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Institute of High Energy Laser Technology of the Frontier Interdisciplinary School of the National University of Defense Technology, and the Key Experiment of High Energy Laser Science and Technology of the Chinese Academy of Physics. It is co-organized by the Anhui Institute of Optics and Mechanics, the Institute of Optoelectronic Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Engineering Physics, and Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Two wonderful expert lectures on “Ten Lectures on Modern Atmospheric Optics” by researcher Rao Ruizhong from Anhui Institute of Optics and Mechanics and “Thinking in the Age of Fiber Lasers” by researcher Xu Xiaojun from National University of Defense Technology opened the prelude to this academic event. The opening ceremony of the conference was presided over by Deputy Director Zhu Wenyue of Anhui Institute of Optics and Mechanics. President Liu Jianguo, Director Zheng Xiaobing and more than 40 representatives of the Bureau of Hefei Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences attended the opening ceremony, and Director Zheng delivered a speech.

In order to provide an open academic platform for the atmospheric optics and adaptive optics industry to demonstrate technological innovation, promote technological applications, and discuss joint cooperation, this conference has set up 5 keynote reports, 11 theme reports, and more than 60 sub-session reports. And more than 70 off-site poster displays, covering laser atmospheric transmission and information technology, astronomical optics technology and applications, laser atmospheric detection and applications, optical imaging technology and applications, large-aperture telescope adaptive optics technology, laser adaptive optics technology, Intelligent adaptive optics technology and many other topics. A number of leading expert teams made academic reports. The participants communicated and discussed heatedly with each other, which became a rare academic feast in the field of atmospheric optics and adaptive optics technology, and achieved a good role in communication, exchange and sharing. 6 outstanding young academic papers were published.

As one of the sponsors, researchers from Anhui Institute of Optics and Mechanics presented a number of research results from the Key Laboratory of Atmospheric Optics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in an all-round way at the meeting. Researcher Wang Yingjian, director of the laboratory, gave a keynote report on the conference titled “Vision for the Future Development of Atmospheric Optics: Twining of Digital Atmospheric Optical Fields and Transmission Systems”. The framework and ideas of the twinning of the digital atmospheric optical field and the transmission system were successfully proposed, and several key issues and development paths were sorted out and condensed, which aroused enthusiastic responses and discussions among the participating experts. The 2021 academic seminar of the Key Laboratory of Atmospheric Optics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences also held a special academic discussion on this hot topic. Experts believe that the twinning of the digital atmospheric optical field and transmission system proposed by the laboratory is the key to meeting the national strategic needs and the development direction of the discipline. The basic work will play a systematic leading role in the development of atmospheric optics.

Researcher Wei Lili, Qiao Chunhong, Shi Dongfeng and Wang Zhenzhu respectively made a presentation titled “Application of General Atmospheric Radiation Transfer Software CART in Scenario Calculation” and “Research on Laser Atmospheric Transmission and Correction Law in Near Infrared Band” , “Research on Single Pixel Detection and Tracking Technology of Fast Moving Targets” and “Research Progress in Lidar Detection Technology and Theory of Cirrus Scattering Characteristics”; graduate students also introduced their research progress. The Tatarski formula to estimate the Antarctic Dome A seeing” was rated as an excellent young academic paper of the conference.

There are two important links in this conference. One is to set up the Atmospheric Optics and Adaptive Optics Expert Committee of the Chinese Society of Optical Engineering; “. For a long time, the two academicians have made outstanding contributions to the discipline development, technological innovation and personnel training in the field of atmospheric optics and adaptive optics in my country. Their spirit of pursuing innovation and daring to practice in science is bound to inspire every participant The personnel are working hard and forging ahead, making continuous progress in the field of atmospheric optics and adaptive optics, and reaching new heights. The Lifetime Achievement Award Ceremony became an inspiring moment for the conference and pushed the warm academic atmosphere of the conference to a climax.
