The Personal Information Protection Law came into effect on November 1. This Law has eight chapters and seventy-four articles, which clarify the rules for handling personal information and sensitive personal information, improve the working mechanism for personal information protection complaints and reports, severely punish illegal acts, and comprehensively protect your information security.
No organization or individual may illegally collect, use, process, or transmit other people’s personal information, nor illegally buy, sell, provide or disclose other people’s personal information; personal information processors use personal information to make automated decision-making, and may not impose trade conditions on individuals such as transaction prices. Unreasonable differential treatment; personal information processors who provide important Internet platform services with a large number of users and complex business types should follow the principles of openness, fairness and impartiality, formulate platform rules, and clarify the processing of personal information by product or service providers on the platform norms and obligations to protect personal information.
