Shanghai Automotive Group Co., Ltd. (SAIC), a leading domestic automobile listed company, announced today that HERE Technologies, a leading location data and technology platform company, will become MG in Southeast Asia, Oceania, Western Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and India. The intelligent networked system is configured with HERE Traffic, which will provide real-time information about traffic flow and conditions, helping drivers reach their destinations safely and more efficiently. SAIC’s system is also equipped with HERE’s latest Internet of Vehicles services, including HERE Parking, HERE EV Charge Points and HERE Fuel Prices, which can provide drivers with dynamic information that is highly relevant to the route ahead.
MG mobile application i-SMART intelligent network connection system is equipped with a set of Internet of Things solutions, which combines the advantages of intelligent network connection vehicle IVI system and MG mobile application. i-SMART will use HERE’s mobile software development kit (SDK) to provide MG software developers with rich location functions, such as maps, routes, geocoding and search, traffic, transportation and navigation services.
HERE Technologies is supporting SAIC’s rapid expansion in overseas markets by providing global map coverage and local market information in specific countries/regions. Both traditional and electric vehicles of MG will benefit from HERE services, which will take effect immediately in Southeast Asia, Oceania and Western Europe, and are planned to be launched in Latin America, the Middle East and India in the next few months.
