Tokyo, Japan, September 22, 2021 – Renesas Electronics Group (TSE: 6723), a global supplier of semiconductor solutions, today announced the launch of an Arm-based®Cortex®– New microcontroller (MCU) product group with M33 core, expanding its 32-bit RA MCU product family. The new 100MHz performance RA4E1 product group has a balance between high performance, optimized function integration and power consumption. It can shorten the product design cycle and can be easily upgraded to other RA series products.
The Renesas RA product family now has more than 150 models operating at frequencies from 48MHz to 200MHz. RA MCUs offer excellent power consumption levels, extensive communication connectivity options and include Arm TrustZone®Advanced safety features including technology. All RA products are supported by the Renesas Flexible Configuration Package (FSP). The FSP contains efficient drivers and middleware to simplify the implementation of communication and security functions, and a graphical user interface simplifies and accelerates the development process. FSP can flexibly reuse existing code resources, and easily achieve compatibility and expansion with other RA series products. Developers using the FSP also have access to a variety of tools through the extensive Arm ecosystem to help speed time to market, as well as support through Renesas’ extensive partner network.

RA4E1 MCU Product Group
The RA4E1 MCU is the first entry-level product in the 100MHz performance RA4 family. The product group includes four different products ranging from 48-pin to 64-pin packages, with configurations ranging from 256kB to 512kB of Flash and 128kB of SRAM. The RA4E1 MCU offers the lowest operating power consumption in its class, running at only 60μA/MHz when executing programs from flash memory at 100MHz. The RA4E1 offers an optimized combination of innovative peripherals, connectivity features and reduced system cost. The RA4E1 product group is ideal for cost-sensitive applications and other systems that combine performance with low power consumption.
