Keysight Technologies and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore collaborate to develop communication technology for hybrid vehicles

Beijing, China, December 3, 2020 – Keysight Technologies has announced a collaboration with Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore to develop a transceiver testbed for vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication systems for hybrid vehicles. Keysight Technologies is a leading technology company dedicated to helping enterprises, service providers and government customers accelerate innovation and create a secure, connected world.

Smart mobile applications still face many technical challenges if they want to fully become a reality, one of which is the rapidly developing V2X technology. V2X technology includes dedicated short-range communication (DSRC) and cellular V2X (C-V2X) two technical standards, but there is no unified V2X test solution yet.

NTU is currently developing a reconfigurable transceiver system for hybrid (DSRC + C-V2X) communications in the 5.9 GHz ISM band. In the future, the system can also be extended to millimeter-wave (mmWave) band communications by using cost-effective complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) technology.

Keysight Technologies provides Nanyang Technological with a variety of advanced test solutions and technologies to generate and analyze DSRC and C-V2X signals. These solutions meet the testing and validation requirements for multi-component and system-level specifications in the V2X communication standard and enable 5G signal generation and analysis in the mmWave frequency range and in multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) mode . Thanks to this, Nanyang Technological University can accurately and completely characterize the newly developed transceiver.
