Supporting data transfer rates up to 20Gbps, the PI2DBS16212A is a 4-to-2 differential channel switcher IC that provides bidirectional operation for high-performance IT equipment including desktops, notebooks, workstations, and servers.

Diodes Incorporated uses a unique design methodology to optimize the dynamic electrical characteristics of the PI2DBS16212A in terms of insertion loss, return loss, skew and crosstalk. In addition to its small size and low profile, this device also exhibits minimal attenuation over its 14GHz bandwidth. The insertion loss value remains at -1.25dB at 10GHz, and the return loss is only -12dB at 10GHz. The device has only 10ps (max) bit-to-bit skew, 20ps (max) channel-to-channel skew, 50ps (max) propagation delay, and -40dB (typ) differential crosstalk (frequency dependent) ).

The strong signal integrity capability of the PI2DBS16212A means it is ideal for processing high-speed data signals such as those related to PCIe® 4.0, USB 3.2 Gen1, USB 3.2 Gen2, 10GE, Thunderbolt 3, SAS3.0 and SATA3.0. This device provides engineers with greater signal integrity tolerance to incorporate into their designs.

Operating at 1.8V, the PI2DBS16212A consumes only 200µA (typ), providing a lower power option for other multitasking/demultiplexing switches on the market. Its operating temperature range is -40°C to +85°C. The PI2DBS16212A is available in a 24-pin TQFN package (2.5mm x 2.5mm x 0.75mm).
